Tupper Lake Triad

Launched in 2015, the Tupper Lake Triad is a hiking challenge that includes three small mountains: Mount Arab, Goodman Mountain, and Coney Mountain.  Located near the village of Tupper Lake, these peaks are all short on distance, but big on views.  According to the Tupper Lake Triad website, "The three family-friendly mountains boast outstanding views of the surrounding mountains and lakes from their summits, which are reached via well-maintained and well-marked state Department of Environmental Conservation trails."

We like to break up travel days with a stop to see something interesting along the way, and hiked Mount Arab in 2018 while on the way home from a long weekend in the High Peaks.  I thought we might hit up the others in the same fashion, but bouts of bad weather on two consecutive trips interfered with these plans.  We eventually got impatient and drove back up to hike Coney and Goodman as a day trip.  If staying in the area, hiking all three in the same day would certainly be manageable.  Links to our full trip reports for each hike are below.

After completing the hikes, be sure to register to get the patch.  There is a $5 fee per finisher, but it's totally worth it.  When the envelope arrived, we were pleased to see we had also received certificates of completion and stickers - more swag for Frankie's bulletin board.

Another awesome little hiking challenge in the books.  We really enjoyed the Tupper Lake Triad!
